Student Life :: PREPHQ

More about PREPHQ:
Tempe Prep now has a PREPHQ web site to organize the details needed for students’ college and scholarship applications. All TPA high school students are eligible for an account, and much information is available even without logging into the website. For those students that log in, all information is private. PREPHQ does not sell or give away any information about Tempe Prep students. This software is FREE, as long as students register for the system and use it. PREPHQ is funded by organizations like The College Loan Corporation, and a small ad (not a pop-up) will appear on the website, www.prephq.com/?id=aztempe. See Mrs. Davies if you need help getting registered. It is highly recommended that parents use their student’s id and password to view information on this site.

PREPHQ contains information about:

PREPHQ Information -
  • Historical Tempe Prep college applications (Acceptance/Denial and SAT/ACT test scores.)
  • College information from the Peterson’s Guide.
  • Scholarship information (both from the Tempe Prep counselor and from PREPHQ.)
  • Summer Program information.
  • Test Info (all SAT/ACT/AP test dates, updated automatically by PREPHQ.)
  • Shared Files (Transcript Request Form, Teacher Recommendation Form, School Profile, current TPA application forms like Boys State, Girls State, local test prep applications, etc.)
  • Links and Resources (All the best web sites for general college information as well as specialized sites for athletics, financial aid, engineering, etc. I update this information as I find new and interesting information. Many of these urls are documented in the College Admissions 101 folder for juniors, but here you can point and click.
  • Each high school student will be able to view their course grades and test scores (updated after every semester.)
  • Juniors and seniors will be able to see their cumulative GPA and class rank.
  • Seniors that have college or scholarship applications in process will be able to see when transcripts were sent, as well as other paperwork or recommendations particular to the application. Application pieces missing will be listed.

  • Juniors should also create a list of colleges they might apply to. If a college on the student list is coming to visit Tempe Prep, registered students will recieve an email about the visit.
  • Juniors should start keeping a list of colleges they are interested in
  • Much of the information that juniors get in their College Admissions 101 folder is repeated in LInks and Resources so that the students can point and click on websites.

Seniors -
  • Seniors generate application entries from their College List on PREPHQ. As College Counselor, I use this to track transcript requests, due dates, mid-year reports, and acceptance/waitlist/denied application status.
  • It is also possible to track scholarships listed in the Scholarships section of PREPHQ. Most of the Scholarship opportunities are for seniors. Many have nothing to do with GPA or test scores.
  • The resume developed in the junior year may be needed for college applications and/or scholarships.
  • Registered students will receive an email when a due date is approaching for an application, or a college on the student’s College Llist is due to visit TPA.
  • Update all college application and scholarship information in May for graduation ceremonies.
