Humane Letters
An introduction to the Socratic seminar that combines a survey of European history with representative European Literature including selections from Shakespeare, More, Austen, Dickens, Marx, Shelley and Wiesel.
Geometry
A course in plane geometry that addresses Euclidean proof and includes topics of parallelism, congruent figures, polygons, similarity, circles, area, volume of solids, and transformations.
Biology
A Socratically taught science course that explores processes such as photosynthesis, cellular respiration, mitosis and meiosis, and an investigation of the organization of living things from cellular to ecological levels.
Music
A class in the composition of four-part tonal music according to Baroque style, music theory, and choral performance.
Poetry
A study of drama and music in verse, addressing the elements of plot, narrative, and dramatic form in certain traditional forms and genres. Authors studied include Moliere, Whitman, Coleridge, Frost, and Dickinson.
Latin III or Modern Language I
Students can choose between Latin III, French I, German I or Spanish I.
